Motorcycle Relief Project out of Colorado

I’m back from a pile of travel, and have a week before another pile of travel. It’s all good stuff, and fun, and awesome, as well as challenging in its not-insubstantial ways. But I digress.

During my recent travels, I spent a week with the folks at the Motorcycle Relief Project out of Colorado. Basically this is a non-profit dedicated to helping Military and First Responders with PTSD and depression. During the day they take small groups out for adventure rides. At night they engage in sessions focused on self healing and improvement. I was asked to come and assist with off-road training, and generally volunteer with cooking, cleaning, etc. I also engaged in the evening sessions.

I’ve been thinking about my experience with them, and I cannot recall ever being a part of something more profoundly and selflessly good than this cause. The people that went on this trip had the courage to admit they needed help, and before my eyes they received it. Lives are being changed at MRP, changed for the better.

If you’re a Vet or First Responder that rides motorcycles and is struggling with depression or PTSD, or if you know someone who is, check out their website. It’s worth it. They’re awesome.

Rock on!
